Meet the Dentists

Dr. Herb Egert

Dr. Herb Egert graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1984. After graduation, Dr. Egert worked for one year at the George Washington University Hospital. In December 1986, Dr. Egert bought into Dental Choice, which eventually evolved into Egert, Riley, DeRoo & Associates, PA.

Dr. Egert is active in many dental organizations including: the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and Dr. Egert is past-President of the Greater Patapsco Study Group.

Dr. Egert excels in most aspects of dentistry, but especially enjoys the many aspects of cosmetic dentistry including: Porcelain veneers, all-porcelain crowns, Invisalign orthodontics, and restoring dental implants.

Dr. Egert is married and has one son, Mark. Dr. Egert’s wife, Dr. Christine Mitchell is an Osteopath, completing her residency at Franklin Square Hospital Center. Dr. Egert and his family enjoy horseback riding, hiking, camping and spending time with their dogs.

Dr. Kenneth B. Riley

Dr. Riley is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), the Baltimore County Dental Association (BCDA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He served the BCDA as Chairman of General Arrangements and also participated on the Baltimore County Peer Review Committee. Dr Riley served as President to the Greater Potapsco Dental Study Group and is a current member of the Catonsville Dental Study Group & the Catonsville Dental Implant Study Group.

Dr. Riley has been committed to continuing education & is approaching 1000 hours of CE credit. He has had advanced training in root canal therapy, cosmetic dentistry (including all ceramic crowns and veneers), lumineers, implant dentistry, and InVisalign Orthodontics (Invisible Braces). Dr. Riley has also volunteered his services by participating in the Maryland Foundation of Donated Dentistry for the Handicapped & Medically Compromised for 19 years.

Dr. Riley is married and has two children. His wife, Lori, has a Masters Degree in Education and has been an educator for the past 15 years specializing in Special Education. Daughter Lorren is a Music Major at UMBC and son Kennedy is keeping the family busy! Dr. Riley and family reside within the Catonsville community and enjoy going on family vacations.

Dr. Charles C. DeRoo

Charles C. DeRoo, D.M.D., M.S. earned his B.S. Degree from California State University (Fresno), his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and his Master of Science (M.S.) Degree in Orthodontics from the State University of New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. DeRoo specializes in orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic care of children and adults of all ages. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, and an active member of the following associations:

Dr. Ronald R. Wyett

Dr. Ronald R. Wyett earned his B.S. Degree in Zoology from the University of Maryland College Park in 1971. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1975 from the University of Maryland Dental School. Dr. Wyett completed a year of Residency in the Anesthesia Department of the University of Maryland Hospital in 1976 and received a Dental Fellow in Anesthesiology Certificate. He was awarded Fellowship into the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology in 1980. He is also a Diplomat of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Along with his Dental License, Dr. Wyett holds a General Anesthesia Administration License from the State of Maryland. Dr. Wyett is also an active member of the Catonsville Dental Study Group, the Baltimore County Dental Association, the Maryland Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Wyett is a Sensei (teacher) in Jujitsu (the Art of Gentle). He has earned the title of Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) for his talents and efforts. Dr. Wyett will do his best to make dentistry a gentle experience for you."

Dr. Kathryn Mutzig

Dr. Kathryn Mutzig was born in Midland, Michigan. she graduated from Ohio State University where she acquired an undergraduate degree in psychology with certification in dental hygiene. In 1988, she earned her Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She then entered the University of Maryland where she received her degree in periodontics.

Dr. Mutzig is active in many dental associations and study clubs, including the American Academy of Periodontics, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Maryland Society of Periodontics, and Baltimore County Dental Association.

Dr. Mutzig shares many hobbies and interests with her daughter. They enjoy hiking, boating, skiing, and kite flying. Dr. Mutzig also belongs to the Diving Dentists Society.
