Now You Can Go Wireless!
Invisalign is an invisible method of straightening teeth using a series of custom-made aligners. These aligners are nearly invisible inside the mouth. Invisalign has been proven to work in both clinical research and at our own practice at Affinity Dental for nearly anyone who needs straighter teeth. Our staff orthodontist, Dr. Charles DeRoo has helped countless patients achieve straighter, more appealing smiles using Invisalign.
At Affinity Dental, we offer Invisalign as one option in our comprehensive treatment of a full range of dental issues. We strive to deliver quality care with compassion to patients throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area. Our comprehensive group practice located at 4 East Rolling Crossroads is a warm, friendly environment that accepts patients with all levels of dentistry needs. We are here to recommend the best procedures available to you, and even offer interest-free financing options through several banks.
How Does Invisalign Work?
The first step in the process is to have your Affinity Dental dentist or orthodontist perform an examination to determine if Invisalign is the right solution for you. If Invisalign is a good match for you, we’ll prescribe a treatment plan and take an impression of your teeth. The treatment plan and impression of your teeth will be sent to Invisalign where they will translate them into a series of customized aligners using the latest 3-D computer technology available.
Once the aligners are received, you will wear each set of aligners for approximately 2 weeks. Your teeth will begin to move gradually, week by week, in small ranges. As you progress through the different sets of aligners, you will eventually achieve the desired result of straighter teeth.
Normally, you will only need to visit your orthodontist about as many times as you would with traditional braces. The total length of treatment is also similar to traditional braces and varies depending on the level of straightening required.
Unlike traditional braces, there are no metal wires or brackets with Invisalign, which makes them significantly more comfortable. In addition, because you can remove your aligners as needed, eating, brushing, and flossing your teeth present no problems, and you can continue to enjoy your favorite foods.
